Downtown

Downtown Columbus is the hub of activity for the City and surrounding counties.  It is an exciting, vibrant mix of entertainment, retail, housing, business, and education.  It is also home to more than 30,000 college students who attend classes at four institutions:  Columbus State Community College, Franklin University, Columbus College of Art and Design, and Capital University Law School. 

Annual festivals that attract people to downtown include the Jazz & Rib Fest, the Columbus Arts Festival, and Red,White & Boom.

Housing is a major initiative in downtown Columbus with a goal to develop 10,000 housing unity by the end of 2010.  Downtown housing options range from affordable rentals to high-rise condominiums to historic homes.
